Several factors are driving this surge. One major boost comes from Premier Season 2, which kicked off at the end of January. Key changes include:

• Map Rotation: Vertigo was replaced by the classic Train map.
• Weapon Adjustments: The price of the M4A4 was reduced, making it a more viable option.
• FAMAS Buffs: The FAMAS received an accuracy boost, enhancing its reliability.

Additionally, the PGL Cluj-Napoca tournament, featuring 16 top teams battling for a $1.25 million prize pool, kicked off in mid-February and is driving even more engagement. If this momentum continues until the tournament concludes on February 23, CS2's upward trend may persist.

According to SteamDB, CS2’s player count has been steadily rising since mid-January, bouncing back from a slight dip at the end of 2024. With continuous esports tournaments, seasonal updates, and a growing community, CS2’s reign at the top of Steam appears far from over.
