VALORANT Premier Guide: Everything You Need to Know

VALORANT Premier is a new tournament format that will eventually link to the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) pro scene. The main purpose of introducing this mode is to allow players an opportunity to compete in matches that are much more competitive than ranked.

In this comprehensive guide, we will go over everything you need to know about VALORANT Premier. Let’s get started!

What Is VALORANT Premier?

VALORANT Premier is a new type of tournament hosted within the game where you can sign up as a team and compete with others. To join the Premier zone, you need a team of five players.

The Premier zone is divided into two regions: East and West. Depending on the region you wish to play in, the timings of the tournament selections may vary.

When you register for VALORANT Premier, the game uses an algorithm to determine the division your competitive rank falls in. There are five different divisions:

- Contender

- Elite 1-5

- Advanced 1-5

- Intermediate 1-5

- Open 1-5

When Can You Join VALORANT Premier?

Players can join VALORANT Premier during the enrollment period. The selection for the tournament typically happens on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (three days a week) across four weeks. Each week features a different map, keeping the matches exciting and fun.

Your team can play two games per week. It’s up to your team to decide whether to play both matches on the same day or spread them across the three days. The goal is to gather as many points as possible to qualify for the tournament. A win is worth 100 points, a loss 25 points, and no-shows earn 0 points. Your team will need 675 points to qualify.

What Is the Process After Qualifying?

Once your team gathers the required points, you’ll receive a notification detailing the match schedule and your opponent. The tournament lasts an entire day, with teams pitted against each other in single-elimination brackets. Each group consists of eight teams, and there are multiple groups across divisions and zones.

The winner of each group earns the title of champion for their division and a unique Gun Buddy, one of the rarest cosmetics in the game.

When Will the VALORANT Premier Stage 1 Begin?

The VALORANT Premier Stage 1 is already in progress and runs for seven weeks or 54 days. Here’s the schedule:

- 29 August to 7 September: Enrollment period

- 7 September to 21 October: Weekly matches

- 22 October: Playoff tournament
