Marvel Rivals has 9 competitive ranks. In order from lowest to highest they are Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity and One Above All. The first seven ranks have three divisions each (III, II and I, with I the highest), while Eternity and One Above All have none, which makes 23 rank tiers in total. The highest rank, One Above All, is limited to the top 500 players.

This guide lists every rank in order and explains how ranked play works: unlocking Competitive, placement matches, rank points, the season reset and rewards. Rules that NetEase has changed between seasons are marked with the date of the official source.

How many ranks are there in Marvel Rivals?

There are 9 ranks and 23 tiers: seven ranks with three divisions (21 tiers) plus Eternity and One Above All. New players are unranked until they finish their placement matches.

What is the highest rank in Marvel Rivals?

One Above All is the highest rank. It is not a points target but a leaderboard spot: NetEase describes it as the top 500 players. Eternity sits just below it and also has no divisions. Celestial I is the highest rank with divisions.

How Marvel Rivals ranked works

Unlocking Competitive

Competitive opens at player level 15 (NetEase patch notes, April 2025). Players who had already finished a valid competitive match before that change keep their access below level 15. If your account is not there yet, Quick Match and other modes give you the account XP.

Placement matches

  • Your first 10 ranked matches are placement matches, and your performance in them sets your starting rank (since Season 5).
  • Since Season 7 (March 2026) every placement match tracks your individual performance. After the tenth, your rank is adjusted by between -100 and +100 points based on your own results.

Rank points

Each division takes 100 rank points to clear, so a full rank is 300 points. How many points you gain or lose in a match depends on the result and on your own performance (NetEase patch notes, April 2025). Since May 2026 NetEase also refunds ranked points lost in matches where a cheater was confirmed.

Hero bans

In higher ranks, matches start with a ban phase. Since Season 7 each team can ban 3 heroes, with 15 seconds per ban round.

Season rank reset

Ranks drop at the start of every season and half-season. NetEase's stated baseline (Dev Talk, February 2025) is a six-division drop when a new season starts and a four-division drop at the half-season, with the note that the numbers can be tuned. So a Diamond I player would start a new season around Gold I. Check the patch notes of the new season for the exact amount.

Competitive rewards

  • Reaching Gold or higher earns the season's competitive costume. In Season 7 that was the White Fox - Secret Agent costume.
  • Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity and One Above All players also get a Crest of Honor for that rank.
  • You need to play at least 10 competitive matches in the season (or half-season) to qualify for rewards.

Marvel Rivals rank distribution

NetEase does not publish an official rank distribution. Third-party trackers do, but they only see the players they track (mostly active PC players), and their figures disagree with each other by a wide margin, especially right after a season reset. As a general picture, most players are spread between Bronze and Diamond, Grandmaster and above is a small minority, and One Above All is fixed at the top 500 players. Treat any exact percentage you see as an estimate for that moment.

How to climb in Marvel Rivals

  • Play a small pool of heroes well. With hero bans in higher ranks, having two or three heroes per role you trust keeps you from playing something you barely know.
  • Take your placements seriously. The 10 placement matches decide where your season starts, and since Season 7 your own performance counts in them.
  • Group with friends near your rank. A coordinated team with voice chat usually wins more fights than solo queue.
  • Watch your own replays. Deaths you could have avoided are the fastest points to win back.

If you would rather have help, N1Boost offers Marvel Rivals rank boost, placement matches and a competitive unlock to reach level 15, with the full price shown before you pay. Boosting is against the game's terms of service, so no method is risk-free; our refund policy explains what happens if an order cannot be completed.
