Apex Legends Ranks in Order: All 8 Ranks and How Ranked Works
Apex Legends Ranked has 8 ranks, from Rookie IV to Apex Predator.
In this article8 sections
Apex Legends Ranked has 8 ranks. In order from lowest to highest they are Rookie, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Apex Predator. Rookie to Diamond have four divisions each (IV, III, II and I, with I the highest). Master and Apex Predator have none: Predator is the top 750 Master players on each platform.
This guide covers ranked as it works in Season 30 (Marked), from EA's own ranked help page and patch notes, checked in October 2026. EA has already announced bigger changes for Season 31 (November 2026) and Season 32 (early 2027), including new ranks; they are listed in their own section at the end so you can tell what applies now and what is coming.
All Apex Legends ranks in order
| Rank | Divisions | RP per division |
|---|---|---|
| Rookie IV, III, II, I | 250 | |
| Bronze IV, III, II, I | 500 | |
| Silver IV, III, II, I | 500 (750 from Silver I to Gold) | |
| Gold IV, III, II, I | 750 | |
| Platinum IV, III, II, I | 750 (1,000 from Platinum II up) | |
| Diamond IV, III, II, I | 1,000 | |
| Master | No divisions | - |
| No divisions, top 750 Master players per platform | - |
Inside a rank you climb from division IV to division I. Rookie IV is the lowest rank and Apex Predator the highest. Ranked progress is tracked separately on each platform; PS4 and PS5 count as one platform.
What is the highest rank in Apex Legends?
Apex Predator is the highest rank. It is not a points target but a leaderboard spot: the 750 Master players with the most RP on each platform. Master sits just below it, and Diamond I is the highest rank with divisions.
How Apex Legends ranked works
Unlocking Ranked
In Season 30, players under account level 20 have to finish all three sets of Road to Ranked challenges first. Players who already had Ranked access keep it. From Season 31, Road to Ranked is removed and the requirement is account level 20 again (EA Ranked Roadmap, October 2026).
Starting rank
Apex has no placement matches. Your starting rank comes from a hidden skill rating: your Ranked rating, or your unranked Trios rating if you are new to Ranked.
RP, entry cost and scoring
Every ranked match costs an entry fee in Ranked Points (RP), and you earn RP back from your placement, kills and assists.
| Rank | Entry cost per match |
|---|---|
| Rookie | 0 RP |
| Bronze | 10 RP |
| Silver | 20 RP |
| Gold | 38 RP |
| Platinum | 48 RP |
| Diamond | 65 RP |
| Master and Apex Predator | 90 RP |
- Kills and assists: the higher you place, the more each kill is worth. An assist or participation counts as half a kill, and kill value is halved after 8 kills.
- Killing higher-ranked players: +15% for one rank above you, +25% for two, +35% for three and +50% for four or more.
- Top 5 streak bonus: 10, 20, 30 and then 40 RP for consecutive top 5 finishes, staying at 40 after that.
- Heals and revives do not give RP.
Demotion
You can lose divisions and ranks when your RP drops, but once you leave Rookie you cannot fall back into it. At the Split 2 reset, Silver, Gold and Platinum players get 250 RP of demotion protection. From Season 31, demotion protection changes to 3 Demotion Shields (EA Ranked Roadmap).
Splits and the rank reset
Ranked resets twice a season: at the start of the season and at Split 2. In Season 30, Split 2 started on September 15, 2026. At the Split 2 reset you drop to:
| Rank before the reset | Rank after the reset |
|---|---|
| Bronze | Bronze IV (1,000 RP) |
| Silver | Silver IV (3,250 RP) |
| Gold | Gold IV (5,750 RP) |
| Platinum | Platinum IV (8,750 RP) |
| Diamond IV or III | Platinum III (9,250 RP) |
| Diamond II or I | Platinum II (10,000 RP) |
| Master and Apex Predator | Platinum I (11,000 RP) |
Playing ranked with friends
EA's ranked help page says every squad member must be within two ranks of each other (a Bronze player can queue with Rookie to Gold), and the squad is matched on its highest RP. In Season 29 EA tested stricter rules (a one-rank limit, and solo queue only in Diamond and above) and said in September 2026 that neither will become permanent. Check the in-game party screen for the rule in force when you play.
Ranked rewards
- Rewards are based on your highest rank across both splits and are given at the start of the next season.
- Your rank badge is animated if your Split 2 rank matches or beats your Split 1 rank.
- Your current rank also shows as an aura: grey for Rookie, then Bronze, Silver and Gold colours, teal for Platinum, blue for Diamond, purple for Master and red for Apex Predator.

Apex Legends rank distribution
EA does not publish an official rank distribution. Third-party trackers do, but they only see players who use their apps. Their Season 30 data puts most players in Silver and Gold, with Bronze and Platinum next and Diamond and above a small minority. Their figures for Master and Apex Predator are not reliable (one listed more Predators than Masters), so treat any exact percentage as a rough estimate.
Announced changes: Season 31 and Season 32
EA published a ranked roadmap on October 20, 2026. These changes are announced, not live yet, and details can change before release.
Season 31 (November 2026)
- Legend bans in Diamond and above.
- Lobbies get a lobby tier; squads well below it play with a lower entry cost and squads well above it with a higher one.
- Road to Ranked is removed; account level 20 is the only requirement.
- Demotion protection becomes 3 Demotion Shields.
Season 32 (early 2027)
- Iron replaces Rookie, and a new Emerald rank with four divisions sits between Platinum and Diamond.
- Master gets four divisions, and a new Grandmaster rank is added above it. Apex Predator becomes the top 750 Grandmaster players at the end of the season.
- Fixed RP per kill and per placement, and entry cost rises per division instead of per rank.
We will update this guide when these changes go live.
How to climb in Apex Legends
- Value placement. The entry cost goes up with every rank, so surviving into the top 5 matters more the higher you climb, and the streak bonus rewards doing it in a row.
- Play with a regular squad. Agreeing on drops, rotations and when to fight wins more endgames than three solo players.
- Pick fights you can win. Kill RP is worth more the later you get it, so an early third-party that ends your game costs more than it earns.
- Know the map rotation. Playing the zone early keeps you out of the worst fights at the end.
If you would rather have help, N1Boost offers Apex Legends rank boost, wins, kills and badges, with the full price shown before you pay. Boosting is against the game's terms of service, so no method is risk-free; our refund policy explains what happens if an order cannot be completed.
