VALORANT Patch Notes 9.06

The latest VALORANT update brings some key changes to player behavior, gameplay systems, and helpful tips for new players. Let’s dive into the details of Patch 9.06.

Game Updates

Agent Updates

Abilities that involve walls now interact differently with the glass window on Ascent. Phoenix's Blaze and Neon's Fast Lane will break the glass if their cast point hits it, but the walls won’t interact with the glass itself. Harbor's High Tide will no longer break the glass. Other agent abilities like Chamber's Trademark, Cypher's Trapwire, and Killjoy's Lockdown won’t break the glass if placed too close.

Gameplay Systems Updates

AFK players will no longer affect the outcome of draw votes. Improvements have also been made to how the game handles audio cues for Brimstone's Orbital Strike and Viper's ultimate abilities, making it easier to know which direction you need to move in.

Player Behavior Updates

To improve voice chat, penalties for communication abuse have been adjusted. Those who repeatedly abuse comms will face stricter penalties, creating a better experience for everyone.

Social Updates

You can now block communications from other players more effectively. This includes blocking text messages, voice comms, party invites, and friend requests.

Weapon Updates

Weapon skin names have been added to the in-game weapon switcher so you can easily see what skin you’re using when you pick up or switch to a weapon.

Bug Fixes

A number of agent-related bugs have been fixed, including Deadlock’s Sonic Sensors staying active after her death and Cypher's Trapwire not taking damage from some abilities.

Conclusion

Patch 9.06 brings improvements that help refine gameplay, address bugs, and enhance player behavior systems in VALORANT. Keep an eye out for these updates and enjoy your games!
