Valorant FPS Settings

The first thing to try is to change the in-game settings. Even Riot Games can have Valoran’s install limit FPS with incorrect program settings. So how do we fix this?

First, open the game settings in Valorant and select the Video tab that appears above it. From there, access the General tab of the game settings and make sure the viewing mode is in Fullscreen mode.

Set a lower resolution for your in-game settings, making sure the Aspect Ratio method is also set to fill. This particular viewing mode along with the lower resolution should improve FPS in Valorant. This only applies if you don’t limit the FPS.

Editing Windows PC Performance Settings

It’s not uncommon for a Windows PC to experience some performance issues with certain settings that lower FPS in games like Valorant. What can be done to change these performance settings can be done as follows;

    • Search for This PC on your desktop.
    • Right click This PC and select Properties.
    • Click on Advanced system settings on the right.
    • Under Performance, select Settings.
    • Click on adjust for best performance.
    • Click Apply and then OK.

These tweaks will make the graphics on your Windows PC less appealing, but will improve Valorant’s FPS.

 

Game Mode Setting Settings

For high-end PCs, the option to change game mode settings doesn’t change Valorant’s FPS performance much. To enable these settings, search for Game Mode settings in the Search Bar and select “Turn Game Mode ON” before selecting the first option.

According to some players, when this option is turned off, it gives more FPS in Valorant. On the left, there may be an option to disable the Xbox Game Bar. Doing so will give you more XP and better FPS while playing Valorant.

 

PC Power Settings

Access the Control Panel from the search bar. From there, open the first option and make sure View By Top is set to Category. What you do from there is this;

  • Choose System and Security
  • Find and open Power Options
  • Click the arrow to the right in Show additional plans
  • Find and open the High Performance Power Plan.

If the High Settings power mode is not available, go to the search bar and enter Command Prompt. Then right click and run as Administrator. From there, type the following command; “Powercft /s SCHEME_MIN”

Press Enter, then open the options mentioned in the previous steps. This method should maximize the PC’s performance level and lower FPS in Valorant.

 

Update Graphics Card Drivers

Among the most common FPS issues are related to graphics card drivers as it always seems to be an afterthought among gamers. Updating your graphics card will go a long way towards improving FPS in Valorant.

What you have to do is go to Control Panel and open its application. Make sure the View by option above is set to Category. From there, select the Device manager at the top and find the Display adapters option.

Double-click on the graphics card you are using before right-clicking it and choosing Update. From there, navigate to Search for drivers automatically and follow all the steps it lists. You can also update your video card drivers from the official website of the manufacturer.
